The role you’ll contribute:

The Security Officer II performs security duties through professional and positive interactions with the public, patients, employees, and administrators. Responds to calls, provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations, investigates and documents hazards, incidents, and criminal activities. Patrols designated areas to ensure protection of the public, patients, employees, and property. Is accountable to the department's chain of command for initiative, judgment, and competence in performing assignments. Participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships. Completion of physiological and physical fitness screenings is required.

• Proactively patrols assigned areas, maintains life safety standards, investigates suspicious activity, hazards, and unusual circumstances, and reports findings to Security Operations Center.
• Responds appropriately to emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls, using good judgment to determine the cause and take proper action.
• Participates in activities beyond security operations, such as transport and release of bodies, patient escort, safety checks, and event setups.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Applicable state driver’s license and driving record per AdventHealth policy.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training certification or equivalent within six months of hire.
• Meets departmental testing requirements (mental, physical, etc.) if applicable.
