Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas is expanding its Public Safety team. The Security Officer II protects patients, visitors, medical staff and employees, patrols assigned areas, and deters crime while reporting hazards and incidents.

The role emphasizes strong communication, calm response under stress, and teamwork; it includes opportunities to assist with medical emergencies, maintain secure facilities, and produce concise reports.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience.
• Certifications: BLS within 30 days of hire; Commissioned Security Officer within 6 months; TXDL within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas for unauthorized persons and maintains radio contact with base and officers.
• Maintains general order and intervenes in disturbances calmly per rules.
• Responds to public service calls, escorts patients/visitors, assists with unlocking vehicles and parking malfunctions.
• Assists Police Officers as required, including during arrests.
• Responds to medical emergencies within training scope.
• Maintains facility security by locking/unlocking doors with proper authorization.
• Produces concise reports on offenses, alarms and hazards as prescribed by law.
