Schedule and Shift:

Full Time, Days (6am-6pm)

• AdventHealth Kissimmee is a 242-bed community-focused hospital near Walt Disney World.
• Dedicated to faith-based, mission-driven care for residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties.

Recent expansions include new towers and facilities, enhancing our capacity and services.

The Role:

The Security Officer II interacts professionally with the public, responds to various calls, investigates safety hazards and incidents, patrols designated areas, and ensures the protection of all. The role requires initiative, sound judgment, and competence, along with commitment to outstanding customer service and respect for all.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively patrol assigned areas, investigate suspicious activities, and report hazards or incidents.
• Participate in additional activities like transport, escort, and safety checks.
• Respond appropriately to emergency and non-emergency calls, using good judgment.
• Administer first aid within training limits.
• Respond to fire alarms, conduct safety assessments, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage disputes and physically intervene if necessary.
• Monitor traffic, investigate suspicious individuals, and detain unauthorized persons per policy and law.
• Document incidents accurately and conduct security assessments.
• Use force only when appropriate and within policy.
• Support other campuses as needed and perform additional duties assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend effectively for report writing and communication.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment safely.
• Computer literacy for security systems and applications.
• Critical thinking, prioritization, confidentiality, and teamwork skills.
• Recognition skills, customer service, and stress management abilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent, with no experience required.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Florida Driver's License
• IAHSS Basic Training certification within six months of hire

Preferred:

• BLS certification
• Additional certifications in handcuffing, pepper spray, baton, and Taser.
