Job summary

Torrance Memorial is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, staff and visitors. The role involves patrolling the hospital campus, ensuring safety, and providing directions and escort services as needed.

You will respond calmly to emergencies, conduct patrols, and document incidents with clear reports. A CA Guard Card and California driver’s license are required, with training in security procedures expected after hire.

Qualifications

• CA Guard Card or CA Proprietary Security Officer Card.
• Must obtain a PC832 certificate within one year of hire.
• California Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and provide directions to visitors.
• Patrol the medical center campus and deter crime.
• Provide escort services to patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
• Respond to emergencies and code activations as directed.
• Prepare legible, accurate field notes and reports.
• Control traffic in loading/unloading areas and parking zones.
• Assist civil authorities and testify when required.
• Enforce parking policies and issue citations when needed.
• Inspect parcels and ensure security of property.
• Transport deceased patients to the morgue as required.
