Job summary

Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, CA is seeking a Security Officer I under the Security Shift Supervisor to maintain a safe, secure environment and support quality patient care through patrol, customer service, and emergency response. You will conduct foot patrols, manage traffic, escort individuals, respond to codes, file detailed reports, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

CA Guard Card or CA Proprietary Security Officer Card required.
PC832 certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
California Class C Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Patrol hospital campus to deter crime and ensure patient safety.
Provide escort services to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and volunteers.
Respond quickly to emergencies and incidents, including codes as trained.
Prepare accurate, legible incident reports and logs.
Monitor traffic in loading/unloading areas and grant access as needed.
Enforce parking policies and issue citations when necessary.
Assist civil and law enforcement authorities and testify when required.
Inspect parcels to prevent loss of hospital property.
Transport deceased patients to the morgue per policy.
