Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus in Lafayette, Indiana, is seeking a Security Officer I to observe, detect, respond to, and report suspicious and unusual incidents, and to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors by monitoring CCTV and performing patrols.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, directing visitors with passes and directions, reporting security issues, and communicating status per established protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year safety and security experience preferred.
• 1 year customer service experience preferred.
• Driver’s license required upon hire.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) required within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• De-escalates situations involving agitated individuals using established principles in de-escalation and may apply physical restraints as needed to prevent safety hazards.
• Directs visitors to obtain proper passes and assists with directions; answers questions about locations and offices.
• Observes, detects, responds to, and reports suspicious or unusual incidents to prevent unlawful or disruptive activity.
• Communicates security status, updates, and potential problems using established protocols.
• Maintains a safe environment by monitoring CCTV and conducting internal and external patrols following Franciscan Alliance protocols.

The Security Officer I observes, detects, responds to, and reports suspicious and/or unusual incidents, such as security breaches, facility, and safety hazards, and emergency situations, to prevent any unlawful, unauthorized, unsafe or disruptive activity. This position, also, maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, patients, and visitors by monitoring CCTV system, conducting internal and external patrols.

• Observes, detects, responds to, and reports suspicious and unusual incidents such as security breaches, facility, and safety hazards, and emergencies, to prevent any unlawful, unauthorized, unsafe or disruptive activity.
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
• Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, patients, and visitors by monitoring CCTV Franciscan Alliance, conducting internal and external patrols and following established Franciscan Alliance protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• 1 year Safety & Security Preferred and
• 1 year Customer Service Preferred
• Driver’s License Required Upon Hire
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) American Heart Association Required Within 180 Days
