Job summary

Franciscan Health Rensselaer is hiring a Security Officer I to observe, detect, respond to, and report security incidents across the hospital campus. You will monitor CCTV, perform internal and external patrols, and assist with patient and staff safety 24/7.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and CPR certification within 180 days. Shifts average four days per week with potential weekend work and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Safety & Security preferred.
• 1 year Customer Service preferred.
• Driver’s License required Upon Hire.
• CPR (American Heart Association) required within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and disaster emergencies per department procedures.
• Provide assistance in restraining patients to protect staff and patients.
• Assist in removal and transport of deceased to the morgue; coordinate with funeral home/ME as needed.
• Patrol hospital campus, investigate suspicious activity, and complete safety work orders.
• Monitor CCTV and direct public safety responses to requested areas.
• Investigate incidents and complete reports in a factual, concise manner.
