This full-time unarmed role focuses on safeguarding residents, visitors, and staff while maintaining a welcoming environment and professional service.

• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel.
• Complete activity reports and shift communications per site requirements.

As a Security Officer Housing Community Access Control in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a shelter location, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will conduct routine rounds, report concerns, respond to incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Tue: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Fri: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sat: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun: 12:00 PM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entry points, and perimeter areas, to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain professional interactions with individuals entering or leaving the facility.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Unified and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
