Job Description

As a Security Officer Residential Community Control Access in BROOKLYN, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a shelter location, helping to maintain a welcoming, secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and incident documentation, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
• Support a respectful, trauma-informed environment by maintaining a professional presence and interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds with dignity and courtesy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
