Job Description

As a Security Officer – Hospital Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting with access control, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to staff, patients, and visitors. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, always putting people first and acting with integrity. This role does not require driving or carrying a weapon.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $12.92 / Hour

Job Schedule

DayTime

Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards within the location to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and helping to maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
• Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols and assisting first responders as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by site policies.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Possession of a valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alabama Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
