Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Full Time - Weekdays in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a security professional supporting a government location. You will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. This role offers the opportunity to use strong communication and customer service skills while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, helping to deter unauthorized access and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
