Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Charlottesville, VA to safeguard clients across utilities and other sites. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, assist with access control, and report incidents following site protocols.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license, a background check, and the ability to communicate clearly with visitors and team members. Flexibility with shift times is valued.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Access control experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) / 21+ (armed).
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utilities-related location by following site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and report per site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas and perimeter.
• Monitor access, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and report concerns to appropriate staff.
• Complete accurate activity reports and shift handoff communications per Allied Universal procedures.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control and visitor interactions. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Day Time: Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utilities-related location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and report unusual conditions or access concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
