Job summary

MSC Security is seeking security officers in Lanham, MD for a full-time, on-site role. You must hold a Maryland Guard Card, be 18 or older, legally eligible to work in the US, and pass a drug screen. Shifts total 40 hours weekly with Tue–Wed 10:30–18:30 and Thu–Sat 14:30–22:30.

Qualifications

• Current MD State Police Guard Card—NO exceptions.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Legal work status in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.
• Reliable transportation and cell phone for contact by Operations.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions.
• Willingness to stand/walk for extended periods and lift as needed.
• Familiarity with mobile technology (cell phones, laptops).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily log of activities at the assigned post.
• Document incidents in detailed incident reports.
• Conduct walking/vehicular patrols during shifts.
• Enforce customer rules in a professional manner.
• Arrive on time in proper uniform at the post.
• Communicate effectively with the public and teammates.
• Assess emergencies quickly and respond appropriately.
• Identify critical issues and take appropriate action.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Familiarity with mobile technology (Cell phones, laptops)

DUTIES/WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

• Conduct walking/vehicular patrols throughout your shift

• Ability to assess and evaluate emergencies effectively
