Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol. You will provide customer service, perform routine unarmed patrols at aerospace and defense facilities, monitor access, and respond to incidents according to post orders.

The role requires 2+ years in security, 1+ year in armed security or related fields, and a high school diploma. CPR and guard card are preferred; background checks and drug testing apply.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of aerospace and defense-related facilities, access points, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report access-control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, patrols, and security-related activities in clear and accurate reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
