Job summary

Allied Universal in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Operations. You will monitor client sites, deter incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service in a financial institution setting.

This role requires at least 1 year security experience, ability to communicate clearly, and a commitment to safety. You will work a night shift schedule Sunday through Thursday 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, earning $19.64 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• State/city security license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors while following site-specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, reporting and escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify visitor credentials.
• Communicate professionally with client personnel and responders to support operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors while carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with client personnel, visitors, and public responders when needed to support security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
