Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time, Unarmed) to patrol and protect government services locations. You will provide customer service, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while maintaining professional communications and detailed reports.

Minimum requirements include a NYS Security Guard License, at least 1 year of security experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a government services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building interiors, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; report suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and shift communications.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
