Responsibilities

• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and report observations.
• Monitor restricted access points, verify credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports and support emergency response as needed.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed License Compliance Patrol in Astoria, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control and visitor interactions. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a government sanitation operations location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual conditions, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, delivery, and/or vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff communications, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
