Summary:
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
  • Patrol hospital premises for security, safety, and fire protection purposes.
  • Assume designated fixed security guard posts for protection, control, or general assistance.
  • Provide protective escort for individuals and hospital property as required.
  • Conduct fire protection inspections of hospital premises.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations of alleged criminal acts on hospital premises.
  • Identify, remove, or apprehend unauthorized or suspicious persons on hospital premises.
  • Respond to internal security or fire emergency alarms and take appropriate action.
  • Submit departmental daily operations reports as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained during job duties.
  • Interact with all PAH employees, staff, visitors, and patients in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Use effective interpersonal skills in all interactions.
  • Perform duties consistent with the care philosophy of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Credentials:
  • PA Act - Trng to Cry Lthl Wpns (Required)
  • Pennsylvania State Act 235 certification required within six months of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • CPR Certification required within six months of employment.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Equivalent experience in law enforcement, security, or criminal justice education (0-1 years preferred).
