Job summary

Allied Universal in Whittier, CA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Driver with Customer Service responsibilities to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other sites in the area.

You will drive a patrol vehicle, perform routine patrols, deter theft, respond to incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to guests and staff. A valid driver’s license is required, and prior customer service experience is preferred.

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Age requirements: 18+ for unarmed, 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, stock areas, entrances, exterior perimeter, and parking areas as assigned.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, access concerns, and policy violations, helping to deter theft, unauthorized entry, and disruptive behavior.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
