Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Desk Communications in Dayton, NJ. You will greet visitors, verify access, monitor entry activity, and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk within a logistics/distribution site.

Responsibilities include using computer systems to support a secure environment, documenting incidents, and coordinating with site personnel and leadership. This is a full-time role with a pay rate of $16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to background check in accordance with laws.
• Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

• Mon: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Tue: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Wed: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Thur: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Fri: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service at the front desk by greeting visitors, employees, and delivery personnel; verifying access requirements; and directing individuals in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Monitor access to the facility, maintain visitor and contractor logs, issue and collect credentials as assigned, and communicate access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Carry out security‑related procedures, including monitoring cameras, alarms, and other access‑control systems from a stationary post when assigned.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, complete required reports, and communicate professionally with site personnel, vendors, and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
