Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service. You will use computer or tablet-based systems, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and help maintain a secure environment. Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage access points by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, issuing temporary access materials, and directing authorized personnel in accordance with location requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, entry points, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized access attempts.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and access-control records while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive government-related information.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
