Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time, Armed) for perimeter patrols and site security at government facilities. The role requires an Armed Guard Card/License, a high school diploma or equivalent, and being 21 years of age or older for armed positions.

Work days are Thursdays through Saturdays with morning shifts. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities for government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry while reporting suspicious activity to supervisors.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally per post orders.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and actions in required reports; communicate information to supervisors and emergency responders.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, while maintaining awareness of restricted areas and reporting suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and actions taken in required reports, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR an Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR a Police Academy Certificate OR a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
