Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Alarm Response Patrol in Newark, DE. You will provide security and customer service at a healthcare/pharma research site, conducting patrols, monitoring access, and responding to incidents.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid license where applicable, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Training and safety programs are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• A guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control or badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check per law.
• Background histories considered per law.
• Drug screening as allowed by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or vendors at a healthcare and pharmaceutical location, following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, access-related concerns, and critical situations calmly and per site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry per site procedures, tracking visitor and contractor activity.
• Document incidents and patrols accurately and communicate findings to leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or vendors at a healthcare and pharmaceutical research location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, access‑related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, maintaining awareness of visitor, employee, and contractor activity.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
