Job summary

Allied Universal in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Security Officer for Full Time Access Monitoring. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide exceptional customer service at a technology, media, and telecoms site.

This role requires being at least 18, a high school diploma, background check, and a drug screen. Schedule: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM with a pay rate of $18.68/hour. Training and career growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access control systems, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and assist with enforcing authorized access requirements for offices, data-sensitive areas, and other restricted locations.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to site leadership and appropriate responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, access concerns, and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
