Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Governance in Reston, VA. You will serve and safeguard clients, manage entry points at a construction site, verify credentials, monitor visitors, and report security concerns with professionalism.

Position Type: Full Time. Pay Rate: $27.14 / Hour. Schedule includes DayTime Wed 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM, Thu Fri Sat Sun 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM, with additional shifts as needed. Allied Universal values integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, issue visitor passes, and maintain access-control records in accordance with site requirements.
• Control access for personnel, deliveries, and contractors at a construction-related location, reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, work areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

As an Access Control Officer, you will help manage entry points at a dynamic construction environment, verify authorized access, monitor visitor and contractor activity, and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, provide professional customer service, and communicate clearly with site personnel. Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
