Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.

• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Specialist in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a retail distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service to associates, visitors, and vendors. You will maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, communicate observations, and support security-related operations. What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to associates, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points at a retail distribution location; verify credentials, process visitor and contractor entry, and maintain required access logs.
• Screen and direct truck drivers, vendors, and other authorized personnel in accordance with site access-control procedures and delivery schedules.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, dock entrances, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
