Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control in Danville, IL. This full-time position focuses on safeguarding clients across logistics and distribution, monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and supporting a secure workplace.

You will deliver courteous service, maintain clear communication, and deter security incidents while adhering to site procedures. Daytime shifts are available; pay is $17.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• State, county, or city security license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Criminal histories considered per applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain accurate entry and exit records, and direct authorized personnel and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, access-control activity, and policy violations in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
