Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Attendant to protect clients across industries, starting with healthcare locations. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and assist visitors, staff and patients while delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires attentiveness, reliable communication, and adherence to site policies; you will monitor access, respond calmly to incidents, and support a welcoming

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, patients, visitors, and contractors by enforcing security procedures and site policies.
• Control access to facilities and restricted areas by verifying IDs and authorization in line with site requirements.
• Monitor entry points and activity; maintain logs and report unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site contacts and responders.
• Conduct regular patrols to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, patients, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Control access to facilities and restricted areas by verifying identification, credentials, visitor authorization, and vendor or contractor documentation in accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor entry points, access-control systems, and visitor activity; maintain accurate logs and promptly report unusual activity or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
