Job summary

Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, Maui is seeking a diligent Security Officer to safeguard guests and colleagues. You will provide security, emergency response, and first aid support in a luxury resort environment, and help enforce safety policies under the Security Manager's direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or vocational training.
• Security, law enforcement, and/or loss prevention experience is an asset.
• State of Hawaii Guard Card, valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance.
• Implement security policies and programs as directed by the Security Manager.
• Guide and support leaders and colleagues with safety and security procedures.
• Educate all new Fairmont colleagues on safety and security.
• Assist in the training of all new security officers.
• Create and maintain documentation on incidents reported by guests or colleagues.
• Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures with proper documentation and logs.
• Investigate and follow up on reports by guests or colleagues.
• Review and update the business continuity plan with the security manager and ensure training.
• Conduct lock interrogations and assist Engineering with lock repairs.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols.

As a Security Officer, your attentiveness, efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

Hourly Rate: $29.93

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance
• Implement, as directed by the Security Manager, all policies and programs related to Security Services
• Guide and support all leaders and colleagues with respect to safety & security procedures
• Educate all new Fairmont colleagues on safety & security
• Assist in the training of all new security officers
• Create and maintain proper documentation on any incidents reported by guests or colleagues
• Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures including accepting items with proper documentation, assisting colleagues & guests with inquiries, maintaining accurate logs and following retention guidelines.
• Investigate and follow up on any reports made by guests or colleagues
• Review the business continuity plan with the security manager and ensure that all updates are communicated to colleagues, and that all necessary training is provided
• Conduct lock interrogations and assist Engineering Department with lock repairs
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols

Schedule

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
