Job summary

Quorum Health Corporation seeks a Security Officer for a full-time evening shift at our hospital in Deming, NM. You will patrol all areas on foot, maintain safety, and log shift activities to protect patients, staff, providers, and visitors.

You will complete incident reports, coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed, identify life-safety risks, verify doors and windows, and respond to emergencies per established codes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or better.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospital areas on foot to establish security presence and safety.
• Completes incident reports of injury, damage or theft with documentation.
• Coordinates intervention with law enforcement, fire and/or EMS as appropriate.
• Identifies fire and life safety risks and initiates corrective action.
• Inspects doors, windows and gates; verifies room vacancy and questions suspicious persons.
• Responds to emergencies and follows Plain Language Codes procedures.

Security Officer - Full Time/Evening Shift

• Patrols, on foot, all areas of the hospital to establish a security presence and ensure safety of patients, staff, providers and visitors and maintains log of all shift activities.
• Completes applicable reports of instances up to and including injury, damage or theft with appropriate documentation (photos, witness statements, etc.) and coordinates intervention by appropriate law enforcement personnel, fire and/or emergency medical response as appropriate.
• Identifies fire and/or life safety risk situations; initiates appropriate action to correct situation
• Examines doors, windows and gates to determine status, verifies vacancy of rooms and/or contents; questions unauthorized and/or suspicious personnel and requests identification
• Responds to emergency situations; notifies local law enforcement of incident as appropriate
• Responds according to procedure regarding emergency situations such as Plain Language Codes
