Job summary

The Grand Hyatt Washington hotel in downtown Washington, DC is seeking a Security Officer to ensure the safety of guests and colleagues. The role involves patrolling, monitoring cameras, and responding to emergencies, with a typical shift from 3:30pm to 11:30pm and flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Starting pay is $23.50 per hour, rising to $24.00 after six months, with a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off and other employee perks.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience strongly preferred.
• SPO license or ability to obtain one.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the hotel guests and colleagues. This person will follow safety and security standards by patrolling and observing in/around the building, monitoring security cameras, completing incident reports, responding to emergencies, and other items as required. While this person will typically work from 3:30pm-11:30pm, we are looking for someone with flexibility to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays, for any shift including mornings and overnight.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.50, increasing to $24.00 after six months.
