Job summary

Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care - Sellersburg, IN is seeking a full-time Security Officer to enforce hospital regulations and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties include monitoring, patrolling, incident reporting, and protective services.

Requires a high school diploma; may require IAHSS certification and valid driver's license. Position features 40 hours per week, scheduled 7:00am–7:00pm with two days on, two days off, and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year minimum experience in military, security, law enforcement, healthcare, customer service and/or IAHSS certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• BLS certification from approved BLS course required, will provide training.

Responsibilities

• Enforces hospital regulations and provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees.
• Performs active monitoring and patrolling of Baptist property and reports hazards or incidents.
• Investigates complaints or potential criminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services.

Receiving general direction from the Security Supervisor or designee, enforces Hospital regulations, provides a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors and employees. The Security officer will enforce Hospital policies and security regulations through active monitoring and patrolling of Baptist property bycontinuously watching for and the timely reporting of potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences ofassigned areas. As determined by supervisory personnel, the Security officer Investigates complaints or potentialcriminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services.
