Job summary

Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care - Sellersburg, IN is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff. This full-time position runs 7:00am–7:00pm with a 2 days on / 2 days off schedule and every other weekend, in a regional non-profit community hospital setting near Louisville.

The role involves monitoring for hazards, enforcing hospital regulations, and reporting incidents. Training will be provided for BLS and security certifications. EOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year minimum experience in military, security, law enforcement, healthcare or IAHS S certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• BLS certification from approved course required, will provide training

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Monitor and patrol Baptist property, report safety hazards and incidents.
• Investigate complaints or potential criminal conduct; assist in restraining patients as necessary; provide protective services.

Receiving general direction from the Security Supervisor or designee, enforces Hospital regulations, provides a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors and employees. The Security officer will enforce Hospital policies and security regulations through active monitoring and patrolling of Baptist property bycontinuously watching for and the timely reporting of potential safety hazards and unusual occurrences ofassigned areas. As determined by supervisory personnel, the Security officer Investigates complaints or potentialcriminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; provides protective services.
