Job summary

Allied Universal in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA is seeking a Security Officer to serve a gated residential community. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and deliver excellent customer service to residents and visitors.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Full-time schedule with evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and visitors by following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of residential areas, parking lots, entry points, and perimeter locations; report concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; document observations and report policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and contact appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation; communicate with leadership.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or property concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and reporting unauthorized access or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
