Job summary

Allied Universal in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA is seeking a Security Officer for a gated community. You will patrol residential areas, monitor access, provide excellent resident service, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents.

This full-time, unarmed post requires a valid driver’s license and readiness for a day/evening schedule. You will complete logs and reports and collaborate with leadership to keep residents safe.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity and document observations.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns in a calm, professional manner and contact appropriate personnel or emergency services as directed.
• Complete accurate logs, incident reports, and shift documentation and communicate information to leadership and site representatives.

As an unarmed Security Officer at a residential community, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to residents and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or property concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and reporting unauthorized access or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
