Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Food Warehouse in Central Islip, NY to deliver dependable security coverage at a food distribution site. This role provides flexible hours, designed for individuals seeking supplemental income or a path to a full-time schedule.

Pay rate is $18.00 per hour with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, aiming for up to 40 hours per week when possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check per law.
• 18+ eligible for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees at a food and beverage distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor, employee, and delivery traffic in accordance with site procedures, maintaining accurate activity logs and/or incident reports.
• Communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to site management and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.

As a Security Officer Food Warehouse in Central Islip, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
