Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Flex Service Continuity in East Brunswick, NJ. The role offers 30-40 hours per week with a varying schedule via our shift-scheduling program and irregular shifts to support client needs.

Pay rate is $21.32 per hour. Responsibilities include patrols, incident reporting, access control, and assisting clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic).
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
