Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a flexible Part Time Enhanced role in Costa Mesa, CA. You will provide security services, maintain a professional presence, and support customer and visitor safety at the site.

This position features anchor shifts with an opportunity to pick up extra shifts, offering flexibility to earn more while pursuing a potential full-time path in the industry.

As a Security Officer Flex Part Time Foot Patrol Shopping Center in Costa Mesa, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, exterior entrances, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report unusual activity, property concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor inquiries, and direction of guests while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
