Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Security Officers for all shifts and days in the Cincinnati, OH area. These positions offer a starting pay rate of $18.50/hr, with weekly pay.

Requirements:

• One year of Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is preferred.
• Have reliable means of transportation and communication.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
• Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility.
• Read and understand written instructions and communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely.
• Exceptional Report Writing Skills.
• Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
• Able to work independently.
• Must be comfortable driving to various sites within a 40 to 50-mile radius for training, post coverage, etc.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

Flex Officer Explanation

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

Scheduling Expectations

The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex:

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone unable to work their shift.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance within your availability. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time, you must communicate this with your supervisor.

For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. Refusing more than 20% could impact your employment status.
