Job Skills / Requirements

• $14-$15 per hour
• Part-time or full-time hours. Hours will be determined at interview.
• Must be flexible.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work any shift and have a Level II (Non-Commissioned) security license.

Security Officer Responsibilities

The Security Officer safeguards property by patrolling premises and monitoring for theft, violence, safety issues, and disturbances through observation and reporting. The primary responsibility is to deter crime through an authoritative presence.

Security Officer / Guard Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Meet and maintain all requirements of LEVEL II licensing for Non-Commissioned Security Officers, including passing a background check as required by the Texas PSB.
• Open availability.
• Customer service orientation.
• Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations.
• Critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Good visual and hearing acuity to observe and gather information from relevant sources.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, walking, standing for long periods, and handling materials.

Some locations may require driving a company vehicle.

Driving Requirements

• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Valid Texas driver's license for 3+ years.
• No at-fault accidents or tickets in the past 3 years.

Security Duties

• Provide a visible security presence.
• Conduct regular rounds to deter and detect intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Check windows, doors, gates, stairwells, fire exits, and other areas to ensure security and proper locking.
• Inspect equipment for tampering and proper operation.
• Write reports on daily activities and irregularities.
• Respond to alarms and report disturbances.
• Contact emergency services when needed.
• Coordinate with Property Managers as per protocols.
• Inform persons of infractions or violations.
• Assist in emergency evacuations.
• Control crowds as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or per customer needs.

Education & Certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Non-commissioned Security Officer certification.
