Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Du Quoin, IL to provide customer service, deter security incidents, and monitor access at a manufacturing and industrial site.

Responsibilities include conducting patrols, responding to incidents, logging activities, and maintaining a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Must meet minimum age and education requirements and pass background checks and drug screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background checks per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, escalating to site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas and perimeters.
• Verify access credentials and maintain logs, reporting access concerns per site procedures.
• Document patrols and incidents clearly in reports and contribute to a professional work environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials; maintain required logs; and report access-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observed conditions in clear, accurate reports while supporting a professional and orderly work environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
