St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Security Officer to join our security team on the Weekend Shift. The role involves safeguarding staff, patients, visitors, and property while supporting SOC operations and metal detector duties.

Responsibilities include escorting visitors, reporting incidents, performing safety rounds, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment during weekend hours. Prior hospital security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of staff, patients, visitors, and property.
• Operate/monitor SOC activities and metal detector procedures.
• Provide escorts, report accidents, and address safety hazards promptly.
• Open/close buildings and maintain secure environment and traffic safety.
• Support emergency responses and incident reporting as needed.

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Part Time Security Officer to join our team!

Job Title: Security Officer

Employment Type: Part Time, 16 hours per week

Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am, Weekends

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

• The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees, patients/families, visitors, and property.

Has oversight of the SOC (Security Operations Center)

Handles Duties associated with the Operation of Metal Detector and Wanding

As a Security Officer You Will

• Serve our customers and provide high quality service with care and courtesy.
• Treat customers/patients in a respectful manner.
• Report all accidents or incidents promptly.
• Correct and/or report any potential safety hazard you see.
• Take ownership for a safe, comfortable and clean environment
• Makes appropriate safety and security rounds.
• Maintains watch on the employee parking lot.
• Opens/locks buildings, as appropriate.
• Use/extinguish premises light & turn in a list of defective lights, as appropriate.
• Conduct/assist with missing person reports.
• Provide escort services to visitors.
• Maintain smooth control of traffic.
• Assist motorists involved in vehicle breakdowns.
• Maintains safety practices in the area of his/her assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• 1-2 years customer service-related experience in a hospital setting
• Prior Hospital Security Officer experience preferred
• Fingerprints and background check during the hiring process
