Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Entry Screening in Plattsburgh, NY. This part-time role focuses on entry control at transportation facilities, providing customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers, and maintaining accurate entry/exit records.

You will monitor access points, verify credentials, handle visitor passes, and respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies with calm, decisive action. The schedule is Mon–Wed, 11:00 PM–07:00 AM, with $18.00 per hour pay.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers while carrying out site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies at a transportation facility.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor passes, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Respond to unauthorized access attempts, incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, parking areas, building perimeters, and other designated locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report security-related concerns, unusual activity, and facility conditions per site procedures.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
