As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Point Verification in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization credentials, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access‑related logs and records.
• Respond to access‑related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel and following established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, public areas, offices, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
• Communicate professionally with the public and site personnel, provide directions and assistance, and report security‑related concerns in accordance with site policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
