Job summary

Allied Universal in Windsor, CT is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time to support our logistics and distribution site with reliable, flexible hours. You will greet visitors, manage front-desk access, monitor activity, respond to incidents, and maintain records.

This role offers a base shift with option to pick additional shifts through our scheduling platform to earn more. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, access-control experience, and the ability to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, employees, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific security procedures and policies at a logistics and distribution location.
• Manage front‑desk access by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized individuals to the appropriate area.
• Monitor entry activity, inbound and outbound traffic communications, and site access points from a stationary post; report irregularities according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of visitor activity, incidents, deliveries, and other security‑related events in accordance with site requirements.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Registration in Windsor, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.15 / Hour

Job Schedule: Sat 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"​): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• X-ray screening experience is preferred.


• Alarm panel experience is preferred.


• Loss prevention experience is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
