Job summary

Allied Universal in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Reception to welcome visitors and safeguard the site. You’ll work a fixed daytime shift with opportunities to pick up additional shifts and earn more through our Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift program.

You will provide front desk support, screen visitors, monitor access, respond to incidents, and follow site procedures. The position offers hourly pay, part-time hours, health benefits, and opportunities to grow

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Reception in Lakeland, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

DayTimeThur07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees at the front desk by following site‑specific procedures and access‑control requirements.
• Monitor visitor, vendor, and delivery check‑in activity; verify identification and credentials as required; issue visitor passes and maintain accurate entry records.
• Answer phones, direct inquiries, and communicate professionally with site personnel, transportation partners, and emergency responders.
• Monitor designated cameras, alarms, and communication systems, reporting suspicious activity, access concerns, and facility issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and complete required reports and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
