Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced for part-time, unarmed patrol in Santa Monica, CA. The role offers fixed shifts with anchor scheduling and optional additional shifts through our platform to increase earnings.

You’ll provide customer service and security procedures at the site, with hours set Fridays 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and staff by following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct fixed and random patrols of retail areas, parking, perimeter and other locations to identify issues.
• Respond to incidents and concerns calmly and in line with site procedures.
• Monitor access points to deter unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism.
• Document observations and incidents accurately and communicate with leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Access Assistance in Santa Monica, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeters, and other assigned locations to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, helping to deter unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other prohibited activity.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
