• Document daily activities and incidents per site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Checkpoint Patrol in Jessup, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

• Security Experience (C115)Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in a security-related role. This experience should demonstrate the ability to manage security protocols and respond to incidents effectively.

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)Candidates should possess experience with access control systems and badge management. Familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access credentials is essential.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets. This includes the ability to navigate software applications, manage electronic communications, and utilize digital tools effectively.

• Customer Service Experience (B219)Candidates should have a background in customer service, showcasing their ability to interact positively with clients and resolve issues efficiently. Experience in a customer‑facing role is preferred.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, access points, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by checking credentials, verifying visitor and driver authorization, maintaining entry records, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Observe and report unusual activity, incidents, hazards, and policy violations; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Document daily activities, patrol findings, incidents, and other security‑related observations in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
