Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Aid to provide reliable, flexible hours at an assigned site with the option to pick up additional shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, entry points, parking areas, and other designated locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the property by verifying credentials, documenting visitor activity, and reporting suspicious conditions or policy violations to site leadership.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports for incidents, patrol observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Aid in Sterling, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.29 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun07:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.


• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.


• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Access control/badge experience is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
