Allied Universal in Jamaica, NY is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed to provide reliable, customer-focused security at a government services location. You will work a fixed anchor shift with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform, allowing you to earn more while gaining hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, entrances, public spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor flow, and follow established procedures for entry, credential verification, and visitor direction.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrol activity, and security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Radio Communications in Jamaica, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thursday 08:30 AM - 12:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
